Founded in 1808 as a precision engineering company, Napier entered the marine and industrial turbocharger market in 1947. The brand is recognized worldwide for the robustness and thermal efficiency of its supercharging systems, used in commercial vessels and power plants. After passing through major conglomerates such as Alstom and Siemens, the company was acquired in 2013 by the American corporation Wabtec, retaining its main manufacturing and engineering headquarters in Lincoln, England.
